Connect the router
Power off the modem if necessary, then connect its Ethernet output to the Orbi router's Internet/WAN port.
Power router & satellite
Turn the modem and Orbi router on, then place the satellite nearby during initial setup and power it on.
Join the Orbi network
Use a phone, tablet or computer and connect using the network details supplied with your Orbi system.
Complete configuration
Use the Orbi app or supported browser setup flow to create your WiFi settings, detect satellites and finish installation.
Can’t reach your Orbi settings?
Local router-management pages typically require your phone or computer to be connected to the Orbi network. A VPN, mobile data handoff, cached browser session or wrong gateway can prevent access.
- Confirm you are connected to the Orbi WiFi or Ethernet
- Temporarily disconnect VPN or proxy services
- Try a private/incognito browser window
- Check the router's actual local gateway address
- Restart the router before considering a factory reset
Orbi login without guesswork
Use the supported Orbi app or local browser management method. If the page does not appear, troubleshoot the connection first rather than repeatedly resetting the router.
Common Orbi problems
Start with the symptom. Most Orbi faults fall into connectivity, satellite/backhaul, login, firmware or ISP/modem categories.
Before you factory-reset
A reset can erase customized settings. Try the lowest-impact fix first: verify cables and ISP status, restart the modem/router, move the satellite closer, resync it, then check firmware and configuration.

LED behavior differs between Orbi generations, so always confirm against your model documentation. These are common interpretations seen across many systems.
Blue
Often indicates a good satellite-to-router connection after synchronization.
Amber
Often points to a weaker satellite connection and may improve with better placement.
Magenta
Often indicates the satellite cannot establish a usable connection to the router or network.
White
Can appear during startup, syncing or firmware activity depending on the Orbi model.

How do I set up my Orbi WiFi system?
Connect the Orbi router to your modem, power the router and satellite, connect a phone or computer to the Orbi network, then follow the Orbi app or supported browser setup instructions. Keep the satellite relatively close to the router during initial synchronization.
How do I access Orbi login?
First connect the device you are using to the Orbi network. You can then use the supported local Orbi management method or Orbi app. If the page will not load, check your local network connection, VPN/proxy settings and actual router gateway.
Why is my Orbi satellite not connecting?
Distance, building materials, a failed sync, an interrupted backhaul connection or temporary firmware/network state can all contribute. Move the satellite closer to the router and retry synchronization before using a factory reset.
Should I reset Orbi when the Internet stops working?
Not immediately. First check whether the modem/ISP is online, verify Ethernet cables, restart the modem and Orbi router, and check satellite status. A factory reset should generally be a later troubleshooting step because it can erase settings.
What do blue, amber and magenta Orbi lights mean?
Meanings vary by model. Across many Orbi satellite models, blue is associated with a good connection, amber with a weaker connection and magenta with a failed or unavailable connection. Consult the model-specific manual for exact timing and behavior.
